What Happened?

But do you all want that as the bad comes with the good. More isn’t always better.
Pretty much this for me. Didn’t TGP start from an active PRS forum? TGP certainly serves many purposes for many different folks. I spend regular time there, for the education and train wrecks. Here? I come here to hang out.

It is off topic a bit, but what happened to the PRS factory tour? I know it was shut down during COVID. Is it going to be reopened in the future at all?

I do what I can to keep the place livened up, but I only have a limited amount of jokes, and once you've heard them 3-4 times they just aren't funny any more. (and yes, I'm fully aware that for some of you they weren't funny the first time, so they just get more and more annoying with each repeat. But it's free, so what do you expect?)

We Expect Better Jokes! ;)

If You Say The Same Jokes In Different Threads The Less Astute May Think You Have Far More Jokes Because Their Mind May Wander Or Wonder..And Drift Off A Bit And Cause Them To Forget. Remember, You Are The Best You In The World. You Are Wonderful...You Are Terrific... ;)

As a relatively new addition to this group, I can offer the following. Those who post here seem well educated, well spoken and have a decent sense of humor. The discourse tone is positive (that is, generally debates are respectful and civil). But the subject matter interest starts with PRS.

PRS probably started the forum as as a marketing idea, so they probably tolerate the rest if we are seen to generate sales. Or good PR. If they (not us, because for us to do it, it would be word of mouth) want to make this more than it is, then Paul and his crew need to show up from time to time. Weigh in on stuff, even whenever we wander into non-PRS-ville (a/k/a all the talk about pre-G Mesa amps). They need to generate the interest. Paul seems pretty cool on YouTube, certainly/maybe not lacking in self-confidence, but genuinely interested in making great stuff. There seem to be a lot of real people here that they might like to hear from directly in that regard (the “we want dragon/57-08/SAS…” crowd; you know who you/we are).

If they make it a community more people might come. But do you all want that as the bad comes with the good. More isn’t always better.

Either way, I don’t generally do the forum stuff, but I like it here.

Totally agree, but maybe they see forums as being dated/of another era, PR-wise?

Less likely to reach young players or the future of the market. Whereas they’re pretty involved on Instagram, etc.

My teenage kids don't even know what forums are, for example.

True...And Also True Is Just Because We Believe A Thing It Doesn't Make It True. :)

True (shakes head).

The biggest problem we face today as a society is that those with the biggest mouths, and who shout the loudest, give the impression that they represent some adamantine truth.

As Edith Wharton wrote in Tales Of Men And Ghosts: "You know, to men like your father convictions are irreducible elements—they can't be split up, and differently combined."

Idiots and charlatans, all of them.

Meanwhile, in the rarified atmosphere of Wyzardland, the biggest, the most pertinent and vital issue (it positively throbs, I tell you....) is that some of my guitars seem too easy with XL 9.5s on them, but too heavy with 10s
