I've been playing the 594 more than ever. I'm getting addicted to the scale and the neck, but I wouldn't mind a wang pull now and then. How do I get there without breaking the bank?

SANTANA?

A PS 594 of course! :D
I wonder how much of the incredible 594 tone is due to the 2 piece tailpiece however. I feel thats a big part of the amazing tone improvement on these guitars. I have always been a trem guy just for the tone, because I hate wrap arounds, but these 594s have changed everything. Amazing tones. Like the best of a Tele and LP in one guitar.
Crazy good.

Braz neck, PV carve helps with a trem instead of the two piece. :).

I still want a 594 Trem though -empirical research required!

There are some PS versions floating around :)

I’d love to see a wood library run of DC and SC 594 Trems!

If you can find one of the 20th Anniversary of Private Stock guitars - there were only 40 made, but they’re out there - it has the Gen III PS locking tremolo, 2 Paul’s 408 pickups and a NF57/08, pickups the 594 scale length. The carve isn’t exactly the same, but it’s pretty close.

Other features are that the mahogany is 1/8” thicker on the back, and the maple’s 1/16” thinner on the top. It has a Madagascar RW fretboard.

In terms of pure sonic bliss, it might be the most beautiful and original sounding guitar I own.

I thought of that model, but you’re all in on the Paul’s 408s. I have them in a PS hardtail studio and really like them, but I’m not sure if I need another set. Of course we could all justify both.

Well, the addition of the middle pickup makes for some interesting and unique tones, so there’s that.

It’s the only model I can think of with a trem and the 594 scale length. Of course, there’s always a custom-made PS if you want to get it done!

My favorite PRSi are my SC245 piezo trems. They are PS though.
Lots of ways to PS to a solution, no doubt.

Best non-5-digit options seem to be:

1) Santana
2) SC245 Trem
3) Tremonti with pickup swap?
4) Is there such thing as a DC245 Trem?

Thinking about this...

MaPete made/ordered at least one I think, if it was 245 scale Pete made one or owned it

it's been about a year since I asked that exact same question. I've been playing my 594 a lot. Really really liking it. dare I say I love it, I said I want something exactly like this (or close enough) but with a tremolo, I absolutely love coil split humbucker's especially on really well designed guitars. I would say I spend 50-50% of the 594 with the coil's tapped, just back and forth absolute amazing tonal palette.
I had 2 good tries with guitars that had coil taps and the tremolo system but not close enough.
I bought a Joe Satriani with all the coil taps, single coil neck humbucker, I could occasionally get it to sound really good super easy playing guitar and I loved the Floyd Rose, the EQ and string attack across the strings was just weird
I just could not bond with it, and it shocked me and depressed me. sold it and ended up with a Paul's guitar as the next attempt, Paul's guitar quite awesome, the narrow field humbucker's , very amazing, too bad it doesn't have any single coil tones, I really liked it . Simply could not reproduce the coil splits tones that the 594 was making, the guitar just had no flexibility almost a one or 2 tone guitar. it sure does that one tone extremely well though. and I can imagine it playing live in a mix of 5 other guitars like Paul designed it for, it shines in the mix.
as George Thorogood would say "and out the door it went" I did give it a fair shot I played it a lot for 6 months trying to coax the range.
no doubt an impressive guitar and I really liked it, but I wanted more.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the DGT it is so good that it can almost replace the 594, I was worried about the narrow neck but it's insignificant and inconsequential. fantastic neck designed by a music professional, you do however have to learn a new way of using your controls, the DGT controls are amazing.
I've never had a guitar where the controls interact with the pickups so precisely, and powerfully, the tonal shifts that you can dial into it with slight adjustments, is impressive it's the kind of guitar you would design if you've been in the studio for 20 years, a guitar that you can make almost do anything, with the volume and tone knobs. and you're picking style.
Mr. Grissom and Mr. Smith go to rock town. there is that slight quack that is so easy to make it appear and disappear on demand, middle position telecaster sounds impressive ,huge palette, super heavy hitting humbucker when you need it slight roll off of the volume knob completely different guitar, seriously having a hard time picking up any other guitar.

all I can say is try it you'll like it, hey Mikey he likes it! I now see that I am green with envy,
I brought one (DGT) into the stable and it drove out the other guitars.

It’s the core that matters
If you’re shopping for a wand, it’s worth knowing, that the best ones have a Phoenix feather, unicorn hair or dragon heartstring at their core. And if you’re going to make history, it’s also useful to know who else might have the same wandcore as you.

super DGT

I would take a great Santana (like my 2003 Santana II) over a 594 any day.

If I want that, I've got 4 amazing and long owned and well tweaked Historics. Nothing else sounds and feels like a great Santana. It is the only guitar that moved me away from my DGT Artist. The Santana is dead simple, but has an incredible range of tones.
