Hi all,

This is one of the guitarists from one of my favourite all time bands, Funeral For A Friend. Does anyone know what this finish is? I’m assuming it’s a custom 22 as there’s no owl!

Many thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the replies, from what you’ve said it looks like Teal Black indeed! Lovely colour! If anyone has one, I’d love to see a picture of it!

If the headstock was visible in the photo, we could tell more.
Wasn’t the headstock “natural” on Blue Matteo guitars?

EDIT - Found some pics of the guitar in the op’s pic - black back, black headstock and the maple edge is stained the same color as the top.

Could it be a ce22 then. They had black headstocks in the early naughties.
The back of the neck was black in the pics that I found. Also, birds. Some new CE’s have that but they’re all 24’s and trem equipped.
The stained maple edge isn’t helping identifying it, either.😜🤪

I don’t think Matteo Blue existed in that era.
At least not in any color charts that I found.
The photo is definitely not a Blue Matteo. I have an 03 Matteo with a rotary but the guitar shown is way too dark for sure.

There was a color called Abalone that was in the color chart for a few years. It had the natural binding, though. 🙃
