What does AND doesn’t work for you?

Maple necks and traditional-size humbuckers (so not counting narrowfields, etc.) just don’t do it for me. The only semi-exception being the SE CU24 I use for drop C tuning, the added snap and note attack of the maple neck adds some definition to the lower tuning. But I didn’t care for it as much in standard, it sounds, or maybe feels abrasive to me. I’d still like to try a WL with a roasted/torrefied maple neck, but it’s a hard pass for a plain or just stained maple neck, beautiful as they are.

I love the classic combo of RW board, hog neck and body, and maple top. I do also love ebony and African Blackwood for a fretboard.
