So, while my SE HB II Piezo is still at PRS for repairs, I found myself browsing the websites of some local guitar shops (as you do..).
And I ran into a used PRS SE Standard 24-08. According to the serial number is should be from 2022.
The shop lists it as a Standard 24, but by the looks of it, is should have been listed as a 24-08 (it has the two tiny switches).
However, on the photos at least, it has a much deeper red hue than what the PRS catalog photos suggest for that year.
According to the PRS website for the 2022 series, it was only available in Tobacco Sunburst and Translucent Blue.
On the photo of the store, however, it looks considerably redder than the PRS catalog. The knobs are also the wrong color (black vs translucent orange).
Anyone any clue on what finish this is?
Might be that the original owner swapped the knobs (they also seem to have swapped out or flipped the truss rod cover so that the white text on it is not visible), and that this is just one of the shades of Tobacco Sunburst combined with camera white balance..
On the photos at least this sample looks quite nice. Wasn't planning on getting another guitar, but might have to visit the shop to go check it out in person..
