What Are Your Favorite Guitars To Play?

I’ve never played an Anderson I didn’t like. I had a couple before going all-in on PRS.

I got tired of fighting with Fenders. Andersons play effortlessly.

Tom makes a super nice guitar, and like Paul Smith, he’s an innovator.
This Is True. Tom Is A Class Act All The Way And Makes Incredible Guitars. His Fit And Finish And Attention To Detail Are Second To None. The Same With John Suhr...And The Fretwork From Both Tom And John Are Exquisite. I Own A Few And They Are Amongst The Favorites Of My Collection Of Guitars.

Today I Am Playing My PRS PS Brazilian McSoapy And Going To Give Her A String Change And Whirl And See How She Goes. This IS One Of My All Time Favorite Guitar I Have Ever Played Or Owned. The Solana Color Is A Beautiful Color On This Guitar As Well.

I had an Anderson for a short while as my spare "open-night jam" S-type, but I sold it without too much regret.

It played well of course. I'd bought it as a stand-in that wasn't made by my own team (I like to go out "incognito" every now and then), but I found it a little .......I guess "uninvolving" would be accurate.

In any event, my Dead Spec has turned out to be a way more characterful guitar. Now I'm getting some side-eye for being a Dead & Co/Mayer fanboy, especially if I take a Two Rock with me. You just can't win.

Both are superb. Can’t go wrong either way. I like Tom’s innovative neck attachment geometry.

In addition to the guitars, Suhr’s amps and pedals are really good as well.

I often had a hard time deciding between the two Andersons I had and my PRS’ when doing sessions.

I think in some cases it comes down to the particular guitar as much or more than the brand or model. A great one is wonderful, no matter whose name is on it. Most often that’s PRS for me, but I’m happy with any great guitar.

I didn’t get a chance to play one of those, but they look very interesting!

Try one if you get the chance. I like it a lot, and I can't see anyone who gets on well with vintage Strats (I've had quite a few) not being able to relate to it.

It's certainly a guitar I take seriously, or it'd be gone by now.

Agree 100%

All Of My Tom Anderson Guitars Are Bulldogs (Singlecut) And They Are Fantastic And A Bit Different Than Any Other Similar Guitar. I Am Not A Strat Guy So I Have Only Played A Few S-Stypes He Makes And Not Owned Any. They Seemed Like Fine Instruments But Just Not My Thing. I Was Very Late To The Game Regarding Tele's (Which I Like Some Quite A Lot) But I Just Can't Play A Strat Or Any 3 Pickup Guitar...Although I Have Certainly Tried.

Maybe I Should Preface...In My Experience The Tom Anderson Singlecut Guitars Are Wonderful. :)

I got into Tom Anderson’s Droptops because when it comes to Strat style guitars, I prefer a more modern vibe.

I kept them 6-7 years, which is a pretty long run for me.

I almost bought an Anderson Strat last year - had one on hold. But switched my order to the DGT I now have.

I forgot to also mention: I imagined, before it arrived, that the radius might be a bit of a challenge - my own builds are all 9- to 12-inch radius.

It's turned out that it can be rotated in without much drama. That's one of the main benefits, I'd say, of buying something from a company that knows how to produce a proper musical instrument.

I have been a Les Paul Standard/Custom player for 30 years or more.
Always said, if I ever buy a PRS it will be a Santana model.
Well, I ran across the beauty in my avatar and couldn't pass it up.
Have been looking as Custom 24's. Not sure if I wanna go there or not.
I still love my Les Paul's.
