What Are Your Favorite Amps To Play?

I Think Those Two Paired Together Would Be Divine.
I'm glad you suggested I take a look at it - after ten years, it'd be nice to change things up a bit. I realize I could just load the Fanes into my PRS 2x12 deep cab, but where's the fun in that? 😂

This has nothing to do with the sound, but I like that it has the metal grab handles on both sides of the cab instead of a top handle - they make it very easy for someone to help move it around. It also comes with wheels (Yay!).

I had the double grab handles on my old Tremoverb Combo and a Bogner Oversize 2x12. I wish every 2 x12 birch ply cab came with them; it's awkward moving a large, heavy box, especially up and down stairs without assistance.

Pictures of you in the Aquanet, big hair and fishnets or it never happened! No need for pics of hookers. In fact please no on that one. Extra points for blush and eye liner, and for spandex under or over the fishnets. Dang, I think I just gave away how I spent the late 70’s and early 80’s.

I now have two Louis Electric amps, the KR12, and the Tornado. The KR12 is excellent, but needs some volume and weighs 50 pounds. Try carrying that up two flights of stairs. The tornado is 30 lbs and has tremendous tone. It now occupies the back of my car trunk. I also have a tweed pro clone that weighs in at 42 pounds. The worst part of this age thing is the weight of the amps, and my beloved 10 pounds SC58 with the rosewood neck. When you hit your 70’s, weight is as important as tone. I had a magnificent 2 channel 30, but 60 pounds is out of the question. It went by-by.

Every single clip and review I've heard of EVERY model Lou makes, has been great! I bet those are two great amps!!!

I totally get the weight thing. Even at a spry 64 () I have been eying a small, lighter combo for playing out. I almost always carry my PRS in the gig bag when playing out, to at least cut the guitar/case weight to less than half. But, even some "smaller" lower wattage combos can push 40 plus pounds. I've looked at everything from Dr. Z Mini Z, M12, Carmen Ghia, etc. to Swart Space Tone and Carr Mercury. Then I waffle, because 25 Watt Archon combos come up often in the $600 or less range, and if I could just find a nice 1x10 cab, while not a combo, it would work GREAT with my Bogner ATMA which is a great amp and kills in 5 watt mode, with way more versatility than most other things I look at.

Now that my cousin is retired and doing all kinds of wood working, I'll probably have him build me a 1x10 cab and use the ATMA. But I sure would love to have one of Lou's amps!

If I Did That I Would Definitely Break The Internet...And Not In A Good Way. For My Love For You All And For Humanity As A Whole I Will Refrain Because I Couldn't Live With Myself For Causing Such Trauma To People. 🤣

I Propose We Shift The Retirement Paradigm. Instead Of Working All Your Life For That Stunning House On The Hill With A Beautiful Garden And All The Things One May Dream Of Having Maybe We Should Opt For The Well Used Double Wide Trailer And A Full Time Roadie To Carry All The Cool Gear? You Can't Deny That For This Particular Aspect Of Conversation I Do Make A Very Valid Point. 🤣

Why Not Just Get The Little Bogner Cab For The Atma And Be Done With It?

The ATMA cab is metal... not a big fan of that. And, I already have nice 1x12 cabs. Plus, a nice sized 1x10 with an Emi Ramrod or better, Warehouse ET 65 10, should be great with the ATMA.
Have You Tried It Though? It May Be Awesome...I Don't Think He Would Pair It If It Didn't Work. On The Flip Side, You Likely Already Have That Base Covered With What You Got. I Will Give You My Famous Speech...Get A 4x12. 🤣

Get A 4x12.
So… I have a need for a small combo. I’m looking mainly at 1x8 and 1x10 combos. I’d consider head/cab setup if the cab is small, since the ATMA head is really small, and you suggest a 4x12…

I’d like to congratulate you. You are now officially joining Bodia, Sergio and the others in the Professional Enablers Club
