What Are Your Favorite Amps To Play?

Hmmm….think I’ll try that line on the Mrs……
If It Works, Let Me Know How You Did It...LOL. I Could See You Playing A Lot Of "D Chords" For Her And She May Unknowingly Agree In A Moment Of Weakness But Even Then That May Be A Door You Likely Want To Remain Closed. That Genie Doesn't Go Back In That Bottle...Then Again, If Everybody Agrees...Who Knows? Still...I Don't Advise It. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned...LOL.

I’d never have the guts to try!

Tonight is 'Look At My Amps Longingly Night'.

I'm still restricted from going up and down the stairs with my guitars. I can take my own ass into the studio, but not carry anything. It's just weird.
Your wife can’t carry a guitar down there for you? Or, is it like mine where she’s not allowed in my music room? ;)

I wouldn't ask her to. It's difficult for her to go up and down our stairs, even carrying nothing. She's not tall, and hasn't got the greatest back. I try to be kind.

Frankly, it's not easy for me, either!

Because the ceilings in the basement are 12 feet or so (this is concealed by the ceiling tiles in my studio), the stairs are very steep, and they used the tallest rise legally allowed by ordinance on the steps.

The builder was obviously a maniac.

They could have put in a longer staircase and it wouldn't be as steep, nor would they have had to use the tallest rise. Since the room the studio is in was finished 25 years before we moved in, there wasn't much I could do about the staircase; walls and the doorway would have had to be moved.

One day in the not-too-distant future, I'll need one of those chair lifts they make for old f#ckers such as myself! 😂

Sorry to hear that. While I had to make a joke at the end, I really wondered why you wouldn't just have her carry a guitar (no case needed, as they triple the weight of a PRS!) down there for you. Didn't realize she was having issues as well. Sorry to hear that. Is there a reason you don't have someone take one or two down there and just leave them there?

We're gettin' pretty long in the tooth. Things happen. It's not a big deal.

Yes.

Never trust a basement! There's a reason hell was thought to be 'the underworld'.

Basements are the wet farts of housing. Unpredictable.

Turn your back on a basement for more than ten seconds, and it will find a way to break your heart and bite you in the ass.

Pipes gonna burst. Basement windows gonna leak. Sewers gonna back up. Sump pumps gonna fail. Those things can happen any old time, including when I'm asleep or out of the house. It's more difficult to control temperature and humidity. I've been there, done that, got the hat and the T-shirt for all of the above in the 34 years I've been doing this stuff.

[EDIT] I also found a raccoon in my last basement, a then-new house; I've had an air conditioner freeze and cause the pipe from the condenser to the AC condenser unit to 'sweat' and leak through the ceiling. A storm damaged a den window when we were out to dinner and it leaked onto the wood floor of my den, seeped through and wound up in a puddle in my studio. To name but a few more.

My guitars are pretty unique examples that I can't simply replace with similar models.

A recent purchase of a long sought addition?
No, Just Buried Deep In The Abyss Of Road Cases That Needed A Lot Of Time And Effort To Get To It As That Area Is Jam Packed With Stuff And A Nightmare To Get To And Deal With. Everybody Has That Area Where Stuff Is Tucked Away And Out Of Sight Out Of Mind And You Just Don't Open That Door As You Know The Work And Time That It Will Take To Properly Deal With. My Back Is Still Mad At Me. 😂

My storage room is a Black Hole for stuff I'm not using and will never be able to find again, if I even remember it's there!
