What Are You Working On?

I'm 6 weeks into rotator cuff recovery and was able to really play a guitar last week. Still gotta be careful but at least I can finally play.

Been working on my picking skills and decided to work on something different for a change.

One Of These Nights by the Eagles is what I decided on. Lots of cool parts and I like the guitar solo. Don't care for what sounds like The Woman Tone he used but it's a good solo.

I'm learning the solo without listening to it or searching it on line.
I mean, we've all heard it a million times so I'm doing it out of memory.

I did hear it on the radio when wife and I were driving and I think I'm close but what I'm most curious about is, did I choose the same positions to play each part of the solo correctly?

We shall see.

This is an instrumental I’m working on called “Changing Seasons”.

The song starts out in winter and moves through spring, summer, fall and then back to an icy winter. Listen for the three months in each season, the sunrises and sunsets … and a couple extra notes in fall for falling leaves. It’s still a work in process and this was a first “live” take from a newbie guitar player so the playing will get better over time. 😎

Good ideas in there! Keep it going!

I just finished this hybrid orchestral/electronic track. I was messing with it here and there for a few weeks, and finally got it completed.

I posted it in the studio section, too. This won't be part of my 'big project' with orchestral musicians, but I figure I should share.

"There aren't any guitars, Laz."

"I know."

"This is a guitar forum."

"Sure is."

"Why not join a synth forum?"

"I like guitars."

Some things I'm working on (when I'm not, um, working):
Finishing up a recording of 8 new songs, my first recordings in a couple of years. Top priority, I guess, but a lot of work.
Going to drop 57/08s into my 2016 Les Paul (maybe this weekend).
I've been ordering parts for my Traveler EG-1 to add a Piezo pickup (and replace the mag with a PRS pickup); I'm going to be travelling a bit next year and now that I have been playing my CU22 Piezo, I like the idea of a more flexible single travel guitar. (my CU22 Piezo is waiting at PRS to fix its electronics, not that that is related).
I've been working with my band on a set of new songs (mostly covers and one original) to play in mid-January.
Working with a local bar to get the band in there (we are not pushing hard on playing live a lot, but we did play ~15 or so times this year.
Having a lot of fun with music!

I'm working on rehabbing a Strat I acquired and shoving it back out the door.

I'm also working on some jewelry (nothing spectacular, just bracelets) for some friends and for myself. Other than that, I'm writing and playing.

In the next couple days, I'm sanding the speaker cutout in my Mesa Thiele cab so that my Warehouse 12L will fit.

My wife bought me the 12L and when I got it I went to remove the speaker that's in it now and the 12L would not fit into the hole. It's just barely too big to fit. I have to remove the current speaker, sand it out so the 12L fits, and then finally get to try it. Should have it done in a couple days.

Then I'm ordering a new speaker or two from Warehouse to try in my other cabs.

Nice, I was looking at Mesa Black Shadow version of 12L the other day. I would get it, but nothing to put it in to
