I Thought It Might Be Cool To Have A Thread Where We Can Post What We Are Working On. It Could Be Anything From Playing Techniques To Songwriting, Composing Or Even Guitar Parts Swapping And Maintenance, Pedalboard Builds, Recording, Building A Music Studio Or Music Room Etc,..You Name It.

My Hope Is For Us To Share Experiences And Knowledge And Hopefully Be A Learning Tool For Others And In So Doing It May Spark Creativity. And In Some Instances Our Shared Experiences May Even Save People Some Time, Money And Frustration.

So...What Are You Working On?

Edit: I Figured I Would Edit And Add My Response Here.

I Am Currently Working On The Very Beginning Stages Of My Design Concepts For An EPIC Music / Writing / Recording / Gear Storage Room(s) Project That I Have Been Wanting And Dreaming Of For Most Of My Life. In Addition To The Layout Ideas I Have Started Narrowing Down The Various Materials That I Would Like To Incorporate In The Project. The Perfectionist In Me Is Already At Odds With Myself In Some Ways So This Is Going To Be A Journey For Sure! It Is Incredibly Important To Me To Not Only Get All Of The Functionality / Utilization Purposes Right But To Also Have It Be Absolutely Breathtaking In Design. It Feels Good To Begin The Initial Steps Of Building A Dream And I Can Only Imagine The Exhilaration Of What The Final Step Will Be Like When It Is Finished.

Not working on any projects currently. Completed a few last year, but no in progress pics to be helpful to anyone.

Upgraded pots, wiring, switch and bridge on the SE Bernie Marsden. Threw in a set of early 5708's and much improved on the sound and I tried my hand at the vinyl headstock overlay and I think the looks have improved too. Found one of those foil headstock decals and had the TRC made.

Everybody loves pics......

Also made a few slight mods to the Westie
I had originally pulled the stock pickups and added an uncovered 5708 to the neck and uncovered 5909 to the bridge and it was good, but didn't wow me, so I wanted to try another configuration.
So I saw a set of gold covered 5909s and grabbed those to try and added some rosewood pickup rings.
Got the brass bridge, gold pickups, and hardware, might as well grab a set of gold tuners to match.
No permanent alterations so I can change back to all stock, but not in the near future.

Currently just having fun soloing using a couple new toys to run backing drums and bass and a looped rhythm track.
The sdrum is drum only and the trio is drums, bass and you can add a rhythm track to loop with the bass and drums.
Sometimes I'll use them together.
I run the bass and drums out to a PA and the guitar tracks run out thru my guitar cab.

Trying to read your post without having a seizure. WTH is up with the caps, how do you even do that lol?

What I'm currently working on is mostly trying to develop some new ways of going about reaching for notes and chord changes. Like breaking old habits and instead playing more so what something sounds like in my head. So 'thinking sound' then going about trying to make the sound with the guitar. Also singing, humming, or whistling notes etc and then following that with the guitar work. If I find myself not readily playing the sounds on guitar after or as I sing the line of notes then I work on catching up to the sounds from my head. I've always had a musical brain that can excel more than my guitar playing can catch up, so I figure the best way I can improve my guitar playing is to more so catch up to my musical thoughts with my hands on the guitar.

Also I've been dialing in some presets on Guitar Rig 7.

I’m working on a instrumental song inspired by my 19 month old twin grandsons. These two little guys are just starting to talk and they have their own language, so to speak, and two different voices as well. The song has a lot of side by side string notes and repeats simulating these two talking to each other and stretches from the 3rd fret to the 18th fret because these dudes are all over the place when you try to watch them. It’s actually coming together very nicely and will be called “Twins”.

Nice Westie upgrades ...I was thinking along those lines last night ..
IMO, the gold helps tie in the bridge, instead of all the chrome. I like the Rosewood rings too.
If you do swap tuners, there are 2 types of PRS phase II tuners. The mounting holes are slightly different. For the Westie, get the engraved Schaller PRS tuners, not the embossed PRS/Gotoh tuners.

Working on approaching pentatonics differently. Saw a vid with Dweezil on what he does and it sounded great. Instead of playing all 5 notes consecutively, play in groups like 2 and 3 or 3 and 2. Determine what notes belong in the scale and what ones don't. Mix them using both types, playing them in groups. Amazing what can happen.

I'm in the process of tweaking my 35th Anniversary Custom 24 guitar. I've had this guitar for about 4 years, and I've always been a fan of the 85/15 pickups. However, lately, I've been playing with more drive, and I've noticed that the midrange isn't standing out as much as I'd like. So, I've decided to switch the magnets to A5's. I've got a shipment coming from Throbak with long, oriented Alnico 5's, and they should be here in a few days. Hopefully, this will fix the small issue I've been having with this otherwise awesome instrument

Currently working on cover songs each day! Played "Queen B!tch" by David Bowie yesterday for the first time ;~)) I am going to LOVE playing that one! Hunky Dory has always been my fav DB album and that song just kills it. After playing it 3 times yesterday (I never play a song more than 3 times in a day, I think things go down hill pretty quick when I try to exceed that number) I know it is going to be a LOT of fun once I get more comfortable with the timing and changes ;~)) Other favorites I have been doing lately are "Pop Muzik" by the artist M, "Rock And Roll" by LZ, "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" by Georgia Satellites and "Willie And The Hand Jive" by Johnny Otis (but made famous by Clapton)! That and the other 100 or so covers I have been playing! Kid in a candy store here ;~))

Released an album in July and am gearing up to start on another album that I hope to release Oct 31!! Still deciding on what songs to include and whether or not the album will have a theme or just be a hodge podge ;~)) I know, release by Oct 31 and have not even decided on which of my songs I will include on it ;~() Yes, I am crazy!

Also I have been tasked with administering a musical "Do Something Challenge" on another forum. It encourages people to "Do Something" musical and share it with other musicians. I have participated in this for the past 1.5 years and also did the static videos for the winners the last two seasons, and now I am adminning it (not sure what they were thinking putting this in my hands, but such is their fate). If anyone wants to play along, PM me and I will send you a link. I don't want to post here out of respect for our host ;~))
