What are you listening to right now?

Had a hankering for some Cheap Trick this weekend. The EP I wanted is tacked on to the All Shook Up album on CD. So before I got to what I really wanted, I hit a couple old faves...

Flashback to my teenage years. This album came out in '84, when I was a 17 year old growing up in Davenport, Ia. Lynn Allen was the local hot-shot band. The recording certainly sounds dated, but man, they could tear it up live. They got signed to some major, and then faded. The guitar player, Tim Compton was the best around the area, by a long shot. He went on to a couple of other Hair Bands....Pretty Boy and Mariah.


 
This is hands down,one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched it hundreds of times but it still gives me chills and sometimes watery eyes. Watching the band soaking it all in and being visibly moved by it is really special. This kinda thing is why I love music soooo much. Enjoy!
