could be the worst question ever butwhat are the strings that come with se's?

i have had a tim mahoney and a se eg in the past and liked the strings that came with them, they had multi colors ends......? i think to memory i preferred the stock strings (lol) to the real strings 311 actually used on the tim mahoney se. anybody else notice this?

Yep, they're PRS 9's. They're the repackaged D'Addario Pure Nickels. So if you're not able to get the PRS strings, you have another choice, which is a direct substitute! Have fun!

Actually, I loved the stock strings as well! Too bad, I can't seem to find any shops around me that bring in pure nickels and I don't want to order online. :dontknow:

The prs strings are wound a tiny bit different then the d'addarios. Much smoother feel and I swear they last forever. I was using Ernie balls for the longest time. Only would get a month out of them but the prs strings, I get three months out of.

I have to agree with you on the Ernies. They don't last more than 3 days for me, the strings get tarnished and rough in like, not more than an hour of playing! Which is why I made the switch the D'adds.

I string all my guitars with prs strings now. My daughter even switched.
