What amp do us peasants play our SE's through?

I’m not amp shopping. I have been monkeying around with my Monoprice, I’ve changed the preamp tube for more headroom, I changed out the Celestion 70/80 for a Canabis Rex.

But to my probably untrained ears nothing has sounded as nice as the used Trace Elliot Velocette they have at my guitar center. If you don’t like a jazz/blues tone it might not be for you. But the mid range seems very right to me.

Simply the Boss Katana 50. I "splurged" a bit with the PRS signature cable, though - perhaps a leftover from the old "Stereophile" days?

Axe FX 3... For everything from SE's, S2's, to Private Stock guitars...

I've actually custom built two performance pages on my FC-12 foot controller now. That thing is really versatile!

Axe 3 totally responds just like a real amp for me. I can really feel linked to it with touch sensitivity and volume pot control!

I sold my SE Santana but I played that (and now my CE) through a Blues Jr.

As a former die hard "tube snob", I can truly say that I do NOT miss my tube amps one bit, not even my two custom built ones...

Helix is a pretty damn dose 2nd place, but I had to work a little harder to dial it in.

I may buy an H&K Triamp just to annoy the neighbors with later on, or replace my sold Mesa Road King II head. However, it won't be because I'm tired of my Axe FX 3!
