Just for kicks I wanted to try a different color of p/u rings and the more modern looking clear and black knobs on my CE.
I know when it comes to the color of p/u rings, some say go with what you like as thats only what matters or match the neck binding color or nut.
So....black rings and knobs or
Creme rings and clear knobs?
Im leaning toward the creme and clear as I think the black and black was to dark and the creme helps tie in the headstock.

Black & clear. Because Royal Blue with black rings is tradition and lampshades look good on everything.

I'd go Cream rings, and possibly black knobs...Interestingly, the lighter wood tone headstock makes the biggest difference to me...(I think??)
It would be a different answer if it was an older CE with the black headstock.

Cream and clear looks great. The black rings and knobs get lost on the darker top. I think the contrasting colors with the cream rings and clear knobs looks much better.

The creme rings always bring out the color on most tops, big fan. And the ivory bright whites look good too on some applications. Ebony buttons always a fav of mine as well. Nice guitar either way.

Thanks for the input. I was kind of on the fence, mostly due to I'm not a big fan of change (kind of like how the dog reacts if you move his water dish somewhere else), but with the lighter headstock I was leaning toward the creme and clear and I agree if it were an older CE with the dark headstock, I would have left it alone.
Thanks again for your input and opinions.

Late to the party, but... You've got a good eye for accessory color there, Davey (headstock color = pickup rings). One more vote for "cream & clear."
