Here's the link to the ad: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VIntage-1989-Paul-Reed-Smith-CE-24-/221279330443?pt=Guitar&hash=item338546a08b

Vintage 1989 Paul Reed Smith CE 22 - $1350 (no matter) Vintage 1989 Paul Reed Smith Ce24 - $1350 1989 Paul Reed Smith CE 24 This guitar was built in the old PRS factory, before they moved to the CNC machines and larger factory, which makes this part of an increasingly rare group of PRS guitars that are highly sought after by collectors and players alike. The headstock has the old style signature and the neck heel is the smaller, pre-factory version. The Guitar: - Maple Neck - Rosewood fretboard - Alder Body (they don't make them like this anymore, which is a shame b/c it sounds amazing) - Flamed Maple Top (that rivals the tops of the more expensive Customs you see today) - Original Pickups - Trem arm is NOT included HERE'S THE DEAL--THIS IS AN excellent sounding as sweet as it did on the day it was born- I am the orignal owner and I play live and I play with gusto. THe reason for the great price is that their is one are of neck damage-- Professional repair job done by one of NYC's best Luthiers -The hairline crack which is visible in the photo runs almost the lenth of the head stock --parallel to the left side tuning pegs ---if you are a collector who seeks an immaculate original ---then perhaps this is not the guitar for you---however if you are a player who is looking for the wonderful sound that this guitar is capable of---if you know that a hairline fracture is only that and will not effect the long and hopefully productive (for you) life spanof this excellent guitar producing then it is for you! It has nicks and bumbs noticable close up but not form on stage or from a few feet away-- The neck also has some players wear and is unbelievably comfortable to play. Some people pay money to get their necks relic'ed like this, this one is natural. One of the most comfortable guitar necks I've ever played. These CE models are becoming extremely collectable. The Customs and Standards from the late 80s and early 90s are getting very pricey, but these CE models are currently at a level where they are still quite affordable (especially compared to what a new PRS costs today).. I really hate to sell this. I've owned 3 other PRS and this is the most versatile and comfortable guitar of the group. $1350 begins the bid. If you are looking at this ad you already know how great these guitars are. // • Location: no matter

I don't know why the pic of the back is so small*:no matter// but it clearly shows that this is a Custom and not a CE //no matter// I don't care what people ask for their stuff, if I feel it's over priced I just move on.. but this one makes me chuckle. I love the fact that he wouldn't even bother to put strings on this one and the text is great, but I have to ask myself:

Did he not have a delete key while he was typing this?
Is it easier to type //*no matter// than it is to delete the wrong information?
May I please have the number for that professional luthier?
How much gusto does this guy play with?
Why do I feel like I will eventually own this guitar when it gets down to $675?
Can somebody please tell me their opinion of "Wha' Happened?"

Why does a 24 fretter from 1989 have a large neck heel?

Also love the mismatched high E saddle and the cracked neck pickup ring.

And WTF is up with the signature?

All the effects of playing with gusto I suppose...

"plays with gusto" my ass. He obviously used the headstock as a can opener for a tin of spotted dick.

But it IS a rare 3 string guitar....

I like how he spends time talking about the neck crack and nicks but completely forgets to mention other obvious issues.

He also uses the word 'collectable' or 'collecter' too many times, he is obviously desperate to convince.

I also scoffed at the part when he said the top rivalled more expensive guitars. The top looks pretty bland to me, even compared with non 10 top basic models.

I'm trying to figure out what's up with the tuners on the right side of headstock. They don't even look like they're attached to the guitar.

take it baby. Meet at later bar, night or day....sometime.

I wouldn't want to go toe to toe with this guy in bird law.

Is it me, or do all the horns on the headstock look really "rounded"? Ah, no matter...

I was eyeballin' that too - I like my PRS headstocks pointy - unless they are Santana shape....

It looks like the "B" String is wrapped around the wrong side of the Post (Hehehe!)

I totally missed THAT!

My male dog has one particular toy that, shall we say, he plays with with gusto. I would guess that this is another such toy.

Oh, and thanks for the post. That's one of my favorite scenes:

I think this whole "Doin' it with Gusto" thing might even become a trend...I know I'm going to start using it in my every day routine.

Maybe we can start a thread of nothing but videos of people "doin' it with gusto"
