Which is bigger? Nut width? Any one have the exact dimensions? What is closer to a Gib R9? THANKS!!! :)

The Santana carve is 1/32 of an inch narrower at the nut than the w/f carve but it feels bigger, overall, due to an increased depth. The Santana neck also has an 11.5" radius fretboard (instead of 10").

I'd compare the Santana neck to my R9 for you but my guitars are locked away in a vault until I get back from NAMM. If you're after the baseball-bat, Santana is closer.

But still sooooo comfortable. My favorite shape fer sure, and I don't have large hands.

Thanks guys. I thought I replied to this, but my memory is gone it seems. I dont want a narrower nut width or flatter radius. I wonder if PRS could do a Santana neck carve with WF nut width and radius.

So basically you want a Wide-Fat neck that is a bit fatter/rounder than normal? (Seems easier for me to visualize that way, rather than starting from the Santana neck and them eliminating 2 of the 3 differentiators...)

Yes....perfection being an R9 carve. :)

So let me get this order straight:

Artist III with special inside hollowing, extra rare, with pomegranate sauce and a side of R9 neck carve?

You want the 57/08 pickup appetizer or will that be something else? The list is on the side of the menu.

Our sommelier recommends the 1987 Birds In Flight Chardonnay...

Very very close. :) Americana birds and headstock Eagle with banner. (Same materials as the birds) Right on the 57/08 appetizer, but also with the noodle wire side dish that lets you split each pup individually. No special inside hollowing needed for me. Just the old fashioned production way they did it back in 1996-97. Spicy Brazilian neck and fingerboard, with a sprinkle of pomegranate stained quilted maple on the head stock this time. Dark chocolate Ebony knobs, and matching mahogany ( A' la mode natural) back plates should round it off nicely. Then of course the Artist 3 pau shell purfling drizzled on the neck, headstock, and truss rod cover. Cotton candy Pau side dots with two at the 12th fret of course. Golden apple hardware, but butter brushed nickel pup covers with gold screws. Did I miss anything? Some kind of wooden pup rings? What would look nice with a heavy quilt Pomegranate top?

The pickup rings look good when they match whatever binding you've chosen. Or you could continue your Brazilian wave of grain by going Brazzie on the rings. Your choice, but this guitar recipe sounds beyond sippable!
