I bought two more sets of zebra 85/15s pickups...just because. I have one guitar that received a set earlier, but the prices on these are just "Amazon Prime" low. I keep a sharp lookout for stuff like this and pounced on them. In all honesty, I probably couldnt tell the difference between these and the "real" 85/15 at $500 for a set. I like the more modern sound with a bit more oomph to them vs the old classic PAF sound....probably what the 58/15 sound like. I'd probably like them too, but sometimes those types of pickups are a little too tame for me.
My SE Standard 24 has a set of 85/15s that makes my Helix just scream. Currently a major favorite.
So....slap me upside the head...an impulse buy for "Happy Meal" money, to replace the authentic '67 I bought new as a kid, but long gone and never forgotten. I laugh because included with the guitar in the shipping box, was a "Gibson" decal, to put on the truss rod cover...except it's spelled "Gibsun"... I guess that's how it's said in China! Actually a playable guitar. Obviously just ripe for a set of the incoming 85/15s...but these Chineese $10 pickups actually scream and don't howl with stupid feedback, like the cheapies did years back.
