Had to go for pre-op testing today for a minor procedure I'm having done in a couple weeks (sorry, NOT a personality transplant!). First thing that kind of stunned me - I'm in the registration area - had to do that because I haven't had any kind of surgery since I was in high school - and the woman looks at me, then does a double take and says, "Is that a Wheeling Nailers hat?" The Nailers are a minor league hockey team - we go to a game every year. Turns out she used to work for the Johnstown Chiefs (we've also attended a few of their games before they moved).
Later, after a few tests, I'm doing the medical history and physical, and about 10 minutes in, the nurse practitioner says. "Did you go to Elizabeth-Forward?" Yes. Turns out we were in marching band together. We didn't really know each other and remembered each other's names, but wouldn't have recognized each other in a hundred years. Weird how that stuff happens!
