Was this a good investment?

My first impression is that seems like a pretty small amount of $$$ to worry about whether it is going to depreciate or appreciate a couple of hundred bucks over the next 25 years.
If you think it's going to appreciate like a 50's Strat, then hold it for another fifty years or so, maybe you're right, otherwise evaluate it as a guitar that is right for you, or not.
