Warranty claim

My 09 Sunburst 22 has developed a blemish on the body. This guitar has a nitro finish. So I pulled out my
sales receipt and went down to my local dealer. The dealer took my info and a few pictures of the blemish.
Dealer said he would be in touch. Anyone here have any experience with a warranty claim?
This blemish is not normal wear and tear. Dealer thinks the finish is going "soft". Huh?
Grateful for any info.

Not sure what soft means but with an 8 year old guitar it sounds like the finish is fading. That isn't a defect. It happens to all stain finishes (ever seen a real 59 burst? The burst now looks like a light tint if it is still there at all).

Most guys like the way they fade (if that is what you have). Faded Emerald green is my favorite.

So after emailing customer service back and forth, they want the guitar sent in for evaluation.
Can't ask for more.
