Hopefully the General section is OK for introductions...
Just a newbe to this site wanting to introduce myself.
Over the last several years I've poured over hundreds of different guitars and thought I had narrowed it down to a Gibson Les Paul...that was until I stumbled over a PRS Custom 24 in Eriza Verde. That guitar is sexy. After doing a bit more research, I am convinced this will be my go-to guitar in the next year. The reason for the delay is that I promised the wife to finish my Thesis in Special Education before buying, so...I'll have to wait...
There are features I'm still trying to decide on...such as the Limited Signature vs. the non. Can't wait to hear your opinions and suggestions.
Playing wise, I'd consider myself beginner intermediate who has practiced 2-5 hours daily over the last 2 years. My practice routine consists of 2 focus points for 2014. They are modes and note names across the fretboard. nearly ALL of my playing time is dedicated to that end. Infact, over the last two years the only songs/riffs/licks I've worked on are those that our church plays. My end game...to improvise over various chord progressions. For me, this is knowing the fretboard intimately, and to that end, I commit my time to knowing all 7 modes and note names.
Stylistically, I enjoy Classic Rock (Queensryche), Blues (Bonamassa) and Jazz (Jeff Golub). Yes, that's quite diverse...I know. :laugh:
Ultimatelly, I'd like to discover my own style, which seems to resonate towards Jazz & Blues.
Thought I'd register here to learn more about the community, the company, and the guitar.
