What do you think of this pedal?
I enjoy their vids, as Don usually always uses his PRS guitar in them.

I love Wampler's stuff. Here's another good review. Not playing his Studio in this one, but he does have birds on his shirt!

I would add this to the board for sure.

BTW, Corey, I have to ask, what do you do that allows you to have a rig at your desk?

I love my Plexi Drive, it's the pedal that first got me into Wampler. Puts a great tonal coloration on my amp, even when it's set clean.

Thanks, I will catch that video too.
I am a heavy equipment operator for the Boeing company at the corporate site for Commercial Airlines.
I am on a team that consists of carpenter, utility maintenance, electronic tech, electricians, painters, crane mechanics, heat and vent, plumbers, all that is needed to keep up the whole site here.
I start earlier than most on my crew, and the office building does not get populated until between 6 and 7 am.
So in other words, I can crank it to 11 in here and no complaints :D
About the only people in the building are in the fitness center across the hall from my office.
Fitness center is open 24/7.

Our complex has two small lakes with bass in them too.
It is probably one of the nicest Boeing facilities around here.

I wish they would let me take this for a spin on the lake :D

Here is a view of the bigger lake from the seat of my Bobcat Toolcat I use here for trail maintenance.
We have walking paths around both lakes for employees to use.

I dig my job.

PS, this pedal is mostly for a clean amp or the clean channel of an amp right?
There would not be much benefit for me by running it through my Mark Five 25 would there?
That is already a pretty high gain amp except for its clean channel setting.

I do like the sound of the pedal though.

Looks like a cool place. Bada$$ boat too! It's especially cool that you're into your job. Makes life that much better. Plus, you get to crank it up while you're there!

i couldn't resist...just ordered one from Sweetwater.

To your question; probably not. Unless you were looking for that plexi sound out of the clean on your Boogie. I've got a MkV too, and it's overkill. But, it's cool enough to try out.

A lot of the Wampler pedals are really "amp in a box" devices. This would be one of those.

Thanks, I may save my coin then.
I just got $100 gift card from work though for Amazon for completing "Boeing On The Move" where we have to walk at least 13,000 steps a day for eight weeks.
If we do that, we get the $100 which is nice.
Amazon has three of these pedals left in stock right now.

Yes, I really dig it here at work.
We are about five miles from the factory where the 737s are made.
This is all office park where I am at, the CEO for commercial airlines is at this site.

Intentional pun?
Ironic choice of words?
:)
I do have a bucket attachment for the Toolcat that turns it into shoveling/digging machine.
We had a rash of illegal dumping out in the woods here that we had to cleanup, and it was a backsaver.

The Wampler is a nice pedal, and it may work with your Mk V's clean channel to add a little Marshall flavor for when you want that. You never know until you actually use it with your own gear, of course!

Order total:
$139.97 after using the gift card from walking at work.
See, it does pay to exercise :D

I took the plunge Les.
If I do not care for it, my youngest son will gladly take it from me.
It will arrive Thursday will give it a workout over the weekend.

I suspect you'll like it! If you have a modern voiced lead channel, the PD is good contrast. Less top end fizz, and a bold midrange. Very bright and jangly when set clean, but the high end warms up as you add gain so it's not piercing. Being based off a JTM45, which in turn was based on a Fender Bassman, the cleans are a lot better than one usually associates with Marshall tones.

I really dig the idea of the 3 band EQ, but I don't really want the TS boost. Already have the Clarksdale so I have that covered, and would appreciate the smaller footprint of a single pedal. Wish they would update the regular PD for the full tone stack.

Anyways, enjoy!

PS, Les, good to see you active again!

Bit late, but: Wampler puts out some great pedals. That is all.

I have a Leviathan and a Dual Fusion.

This will be my second one.
Bought the Faux Tape Ehco when it came out, but gave it to my son later on

Thanks Andy, I hope I like it.

Found one from Brian Wampler earlier in the year.
He plays a few AC/DC riffs which is great as I enjoy playing AC/DC.

Newtech, that video sounds great.

PS, here is another one.
There are quite a few vids out on this pedal.

Just finished the Tom Quayle video above, wow!
He really goes through the settings on it.
Strange looking guitar he has with the end horns :)

So, who all is thinking about buying one of these Marshal in a box pedals now?
I also thought he had some Mesa sounds going there as some of his playing sounded like John Petrucci to me.

Very versatile pedal, but when he first turned on the pre gain boost later in the video I think he called it post gain by accident.
That brought in a lot more sustain, and I can see using just the pre gain alone with the second channel on my Mark Five 25.
But I am going to experiment with the post gain on the clean channel of the amp.

mine should be here tomorrow
Cool, same day as mine.
So the pre gain setting that works with just its gain control is more like a tube screamer circuit right when not engaging the post gain on the left side of the pedal?

Looking forward to how you like it.
I think I will be taking off my EHX Big Muff.
I hardly use it.
I mainly bought it as I had one of the original ones back around '72 or '73.
