Love my 2019 S2 custom 24 and hardly play anything else. But the volume knob moves too easily and then can change volume for me always going down in volume.

Trying to keep strumming hand and little finger farther away from it but ...

Can i somehow tighten it so harder to rotate? Hardware changes?

Logically i wish it was farther away from strings but ... ideas?

So, Paul likes them that way. They remove a washer from the pots to make them turn easier.

Buy new ones. The gimmicks don’t do it for me, but I don’t actively make a change unless I’m making real mods. The RS Guitarworks’ SuperPots are really nice feeling.

I had a similar problem with my Strat and several pedals. I used o-rings to stiffen things up. I think I got this idea from Paul Gilbert but not sure. The Strat volume is now quite stiff. Probably a little too stiff for nice, easy, and quick volume swells but when I play it, which isn't often any more, I no longer end up on 5 halfway through a song. Same goes for the pedals. I no longer accidentally adjust the knobs with my foot.

I'll have to try these options too. I contacted PRS about this very issue when I started using the 513s years ago. As noted here, they suggested a felt washer. O-rings is new to me, but I will have to try that one!

I agree they can move easily. It is a strength and a problem.

For me, I have adapted to it and really love the ease of riding the volume knob. As I have matured as a player it has made me better. I do on occasion bump it but its an easy recovery. One time live it was was a big problem but again the benefits outweigh the negatives.

For me, it has depended on the location. On the 513s, I have hit the volume unintentionally. On the 594s, no. In any case I have been gigging the 513s for many years now, so it isn't a deal breaker. More of a functional improvement I am looking for to not have to alter my hand motions.
