Gracias Amigo!

Here is my 1991 24 custom. It's a bolt-on that plays like butter. I just swapped the rotary & tone pot for a 3-way toggle & pp tone.

What I've learned recently is the CE's made, I think sometime after '92 had corners cut? Mine has a solid maple neck and the cover plates on the back are routed out to be flush. The newer models have a 3 piece neck and the cover plates are not routed and just sitting on top of the body. Not sure about the trem??

I'll play :) Early 1991 CU24, started in 1990 & finished in 1991 per the dates from the cavity & hang tag. One of the more interesting pieces of wood I have seen - cavity labels her as a "10" but headstock is not, so officially NOT a 10-top. Brazzy board, sweet switch, nice birds, HFS/VB and MilCom as expected.

Interesting note - the original owner specified the HFS/VB and had the rotary wired so that the middle position is actually dual humbuckers, and both single-coil positions are series. I have all of the documentation. Very cool.

There is this watermark going through the photos. Makes it hard to see.

The newer re-released CEs have the non-recessed control/tremolo covers (2016 on).
1988-2008 have the recessed covers.

I highly recommend it! There’s something special about those early ones.

I ended up snagging that '91 Custom 24 Ten Top I mentioned earlier... She's in pretty darn good shape. Just a couple of very minor scuffs and dings. Definitely not as much playing time in her as my '89.
Took her home, got her setup, and man oh man... I'm convinced there is legit magic inside these old beauties. I guess I officially have a "collection" now that I have two!

PS- The guy I bought her from has an '88 24 Custom and an '85 as well. I don't have any pictures of those two, but he got the '85 from the original owner, who was a collector. It still has the original receipt of sale, blue case, was signed by Paul on the back of the headstock, and doesn't have a single mark/ding/bump on it. Pearl black, moons, and rosewood fretboard... *boooinnggg*

Cheers!

Killer!

These years are nostalgic, and certainly collectable, but "Golden"? I don't really think so. My '91 doesn't get near the amount of play time as the ones 20 years younger. The newer guitars just sound and feel better to me.

Hello,
really great pics in this thread!
I´m new here. I do like the Annapolis-PRSi, I own a early Cu24, a Signature, a Artist I and a 10th Anni.
From Stevensville I like guitars with rosewood necks and 59/09 pickups.
As soon as I understand, how to do, I`ll ad some pics.

Welcome, DirkS! Thank you for having an avatar right from the start.:)
That sounds like quite the collection you've got there. DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing them.

Thank you, I`m really looking forward to this forum and especially this thread,
It`s a pitty that a lot of pics are not visuable anymore.

I am curious to see how far my knowledge of the English language extends to following the thread....^^

edit: I just read, that it`s not possible, to click & drag pics from your hard drive to the post. Now I`m not shure anymore if and when I admit pics of my guitars, sry.
