Mrs AR and I have been married for 20 years in January and will be going to Vegas for a few days.

Anyone be able to make suggestions for places to visit, food stops, bars, music etc.

Oh and of course, guitar stores that are worth visiting?

Vegas Baby :p

Dare I recommend Roman guitars? Not the same since Ed but its still a cool shop. That's where I got my Alembic back in the day.

Congrats on making it 20 year man!! We celebrated 10 years during 2020\Covid so no travels at all.

I’ll mind to watch my heels. I believe he used to like to shave them, so probably a similar ethos exists.

Shelby American shop/ museum it’s free and cool. Very close to the airport and strip and Larry Flints Hustler club ( so I’m told). If your going in January bring some jackets and gloves as it can get down into the twenties at night. It was 28 this morning when I woke up and headed out to breakfast. Days warm up nice. That I have found all the casinos are smoking and that can be a shock if your not a smoker. All the casinos have something to offer. There’s an observation wheel ( Ferris Wheel) that is about an hour ride and each car has a bar, you’ll get a cool look at the city. If your daring there are helicopter tours that are about a half hour and will give you a birds eye view of the strip. Don’t waste your time at the pawn shops I found nothing guitar related worth anything there. If you eat just outside the strip you’ll save some dough as obviously it’s all tourist oriented.

Wow chilly. Thanks for the suggestions.

Gordon Ramsay's Burger is the best damn burger I've had and service was as great as you'd expect based on his shows (his fish & chips restaurant OTOH was a poorly managed disaster when I went). If you are a fish & chips aficionado the Crown & Anchor Pub is the best fish & chips in town and a quirky non-touristy excursion off the strip if you like 'authentic' British pubs ('authentic' == dark and a bit smelly but fun). Lola's has outstanding cajun food and isn't too far off the strip.

For a 1/2 day trip a drive to Boulder City is nice as is the drive through Valley of Fire State Park. If you go to Boulder City then see Hoover Dam, also the ghost town of Nelson (south of Boulder City) is a cool place to see and they have a 1 hr walking tour through the mine (reservations required), Nelson is just off the Colorado river and is in surprisingly good condition.

Searching for victim's bodies of 1970's Mafia hitmen has become a popular activity around Lake Mead... a uniquely "Old Vegas" experience.

Happy anniversary! I've been there many times, and it's all so good, I don't know if I could recommend anything over the other except I do enjoy the Cirque Du Soleil shows.
