Using PRS standard 24 bridge as down only tremolo

So I bought a PRS standard 24 plays great no issues at all, but it came stock with the bridge floating. I already knew that it was going to be floating but I dislike the reliability of a floating bridge when you use the tremolo. So I changed strings on it it and the back end of the bridge sank to the body of the guitar, I then tightened the springs in the back of the guitar so when I did put new strings on the bridge still laid against the body of the guitar I’ve been using the tremolo and it only goes down only and not up because the body of the guitar stops you from going up. The guitar still plays great and even when I use the tremolo or bend a string it stays in tune. I was just wondering if this is bad for the bridge in any way because I know they are meant to be used floating.

No problem for the bridge nor for the playing, but take care of the painting where the bridge touches the body, it could cause dents.

Floating vs. fixed is a personal preference thing. EVH adjusted his Floyds so that he could only dive but not pull up. Steve Vai would not have been happy with that :)

It also depends on what you want to play with the guitar. If you want to play a lot of double string bends, a trem with little spring tension leads to the note not being bent going flat - the cure for that is to increase spring tension but that makes the trem stiffer - it is a compromise.
