Using Blue Painters Tape

Is there a time limit to leaving blue painters masking tape on a guitar with V12 finish? A day or so okay?

I think you'd be just fine for a day or two as long as you're in a room with climate control. I'd worry about leaving it in a room with no A/C for an extended period of time during the summer months as the tape's adhesive would start to dry out. But they make that stuff so that it won't peel up regular latex paint. I wouldn't use off brand stuff. I've used it on thin nitro before with no issue. I also don't push down hard and really make sure it's sticking. I just kind of lay it on there and don't rub over it.
