I just purchased a 2008 PRS SC-245 10 top, was replacing strings and checked the pickup, to my surprise the guitar has a Santana III base and Dragon II treble pickup. Is this factory orcas this a mod? Was this a thing in the day?

Original pups would have been 245 or maybe 5708. There was a limited run 5708 SC245. Yours is a hot rodded singlecut swap. The SIII bass pickup is around 7ohm and the D2 is 12ohm. Sorta Tremontiesque. Also around that time PRS was wheeling a bonus and/or exchange pickup program too.

PRS singlecut 24.5" stoptails can sound awesome with a range of pickups. Mine have 58/15 (plus piezo), Wolfetone Marshallhead Alnico IV and Gibson P-90 sets. Bet the DII/SIII combo sounds great too. Like @dmatthews said: if it sounds good it is good!
