How much difference is there between the USA made 57/08's etc and their overseas manufactured equivalents ?

Sorry, I have 57/08s and love them, but I have never played the S version. I seem to recall some people being really pleased with them. Think it was in some of the NGD threads from peeps that picked up the Chris Robertson SE.
