Has anyone upgraded from the standard bridge with the unpaired ones with the brass added and found it was worth it? I have a 2000 mccarty and was wondering if it’s worth the investment.

I found that the brass inserts on the wrap bridge prevented the dreaded 'plinky' sound, and gave me a better fundamental tone.

Just my two cents. I've had many of the earlier ones, and several with the brass inserts.

This, of course, doesn't mean you should buy one, unless you're hearing a bit of metallic 'plink'.

Yup! I did it on my HB and it’s nice and articulate.

My 93 Custom 22 wrap tailpiece bridge had the buzzy thing on the B and high E strings. Replaced it with the newer brass inset bridge…… imho, was an improvement in overall tone and no more fuzzy bridge buzz…..

I did the same on my SE245, to my ear it brightened the acoustic tone of the guitar

Oh and pics, otherwise it’s a “Hello Kitty” ex-plink.

Paul R. Smith knows his stuff, right?

Because if you hear it acoustically it translates to a degree amplified. Every little tiny improvement helps.

Just my two cents.
