Upgrade SE to S2?

Hey folks,

I've got GAS for a black S2 Custom 24. But I'm having trouble justifying it as an upgrade to my SE 24 over anything significant other than the country of origin.

Can anyone convince me otherwise?!

I haven't laid hands on an S2, but it should give you the real Maryland feel with the pattern neck and the finish. Other than that, you could customize the SE to get the spec pretty darn close for less money.

The other selling point for me would be the non-veneer maple top on the S2

I had 2 SE Santana. Traded one in for a S2 custom 24. Looking to trade in the other SE for another C24 or perhaps a S2 Mira. Nuff said.

It's best you try it out before deciding that it's a definite upgrade. Some people may like the way the S2 feels. You get the Pattern Regular neck, locking tuners, PRS spec-ed pickups and all those small parts. Apart from sharing the same silhouette and trem, they're very different guitars.

the only difference I found was in the neck thickness & the locking tuners
Everything else kinda was the same
