Update-09/25/2024. My new learning project in guitar repair starting soon...

Well... The dual action truss rod works great with 2 of 6 strings installed. No creaks or groans thus far! Yay!

I bought a nice 4 push pull pot "Jimmy Page" CTS equipped wiring harness for it to expand the controls beyond the stock Prophesy Plus coil taps only control. Didn't feel like all the extra soldering myself. Been doing enough of that lately so I said screw it!

Time to set the bridge height and relief on her and play acoustically until I get the guts put back in the electronics cavities! Whoop! Free Guitar Day!

Dang, FedEx hates cherry sun burst guitars! They did the same to mine a couple of weeks before your OG post.

Very nice work, I'm interested in how the rubber band clamping turns out.

I really love the Prophecy line they are killer guitars. To get a sad, free guitar is nice and I'll agree that top is really sweet!

Thanks for sharing your adventure.

The rubber band clamping versus conventional ones was the only reason that thing went back together! Getting ready to start filling a few spots, sanding, staining, clear coating with satin nitro with a mild sanding and buffing.

Stringing it up without the new electronics installed to wear out acoustically for a few days. No need to paste filler, sand, dye, spray satin nitro, light sand and light polish if it's not going to hold up.

I'm not into wasting my time... LoL! 🤣 I will put it through the ringer with a set of 10's with a boat load of string stretching, etc! It feels solid, but now we'll see under full string tension and playing pressure after curing for several days!

The Project rolls on ....
You Could Always Ship It To Yourself And See If It Passes The Real Abuse Test. 🤣

I think the baseball player on the TV in post #22 said it best as he points to the heavens … someone is looking down from above to rescue this guitar. 😎

The Divinely rescued guitar is very lively, thick, and awesome acoustically!!! I am looking forward to putting the Frankenstein's Monster guts in her to tweak those unknown Gibson USA covered pickups. Unless someone installed the covers themselves, these guitars came with open uncovered bobbins for their pickups. My semi-twin replacement one is uncovered like a garnet red one I gave to a friend of mine that migrated to North Carolina years ago... I love all the non active pickup Prophecy Plus guitars!
