We'll we talk a lot on the forum and I thought it might be interesting to know a little about one another. Maybe city and state or country you are from your age OPTIONAL years playing musical styles strings picks etc .Also if you have any interesting stories musical that is to share.Lets get to know one another .
 
From NY. Started sometime in the 70's playing country, rock and punk with a hint of Jazz after I heard Charlie Christian.

O.K. Iam from Philadelphia I've been playing guitar for. 50 years Iam 60 and retired from Harley Davidson.my call sign comes from my keyboard player calling me blues boy, I seem to think someone else uses that name too. The 998 comes from my beloved. 2002 Ducati 998 .I use DR pure blues and grafhtech picks. When I was a young man in the 60's I studied periodically with Dennis Sandoli, Joe Sgro And a few lessons with Pat Martino in Philly.Funny story in 1969 my then girlfriend won two tickets to N . Y for New Year's Eve . Train and dinner.We headed to N.Y.via train from 30th st station. Arrived in N.Y. Early an proceeded right to the Fillmore east,To my surprise Band if gypsies.We were to early for the box office so we went a few blocks down to a ticketmaster and got two tickets for the late show.I think the tickets were. 7.50 a piece . Now if you listen to the album you won't hear my applause because the guy sitting next to me offered me some wine from a sack,we'll there was more than wine , on about the 5 th song I was boarding a spacecraft for parts unknown. But I do remember the whole show just in a different light.
 
I'm from Chesterfield Township Michigan. It's a suburb of Detroit (no one really lives in Detroit anymore).
I've owned guitars for 35 years and someday in going to learn to play. I have NO talent at all. I just can't seem to learn to play.
I figure if I buy enough high quality guitars that will somehow make up for my lack of talent.
Really what I need to do is just buckle down and practice practice practice and quit giving up every time it gets difficult.
 
We'll mike that's ok keep practicing it gets easier I practice every day for a couple of hours just to keep my arthritis hands from cramping.

Except for the 770,000 who live in Detroit...

It's still more populous than Boston. Go figure.

Toledo Bob here. I have been playing guitar in one venue or another since I was 15. I am now over 60. You can do the math. :-) I am a full time gigging Blues Player. In fact I'm leaving for a gig in about 15 minutes. I have been blessed to be one of those "second tier" professional musicians. Have played with some greats but always in the ensemble. Just never broke through so to speak. No regrets. Cut my first record [a real vinyl 45!] in 1967. Sold just enuff to pay for it. Got me some good dates, however. Couple of years ago I released an all original Blues CD named- ready for this?- Blues. Last time I checked Amazon still had it up for sale. Did much better in Europe than here. Funny that. I started off playing Fenders then switched to Gibsons. My fave Gibson is the Traditional. I own 2 and they are both players. named 'em Cherry and Big Blue. You can prolly figure out their colors :-) Musical influences? Way to many to mention all of them. Most, like me, were less than famous but had that big Blues heart that just drew you into their playing. OK..Lightnin' Hopkins, Jonny Charles, Lonnie Mack, Buddy Guy, all three of the Kings! I really like Kenny Wayne Sheperd and Joe Bonamassa having followed them for years before they were big like they are now. I have ordered a ZMSE and waiting on it to get here. Brand new here. 57 years old, just getting back into playing after a15 year break. Mainly interested in classic rock from Zep, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Creedence. Wanted to learn guitar after hearing things like Born on the Bayou, Over the Hills, Rain Song. Also enjoy blues from folks like Gary Moore, SRV, Joe Bonamassa. Along with my new CU24, I have a Taylor GA koa with cedar top, an unknown classical, and an unknown resonator.
We live in Morgan Hill, just south of San Jose, where I work for a pretty well known tech company.
 
Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual. I'm a Sagittarius, which surprises most people. I like long walks on the beach, sunsets and snuggling by the fire. I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. And doggone it, people like me!

Wait, what? In reality, I'm a typical PRS playing doctor, more gear than talent. Born and bred in Maryland. 57 years old...
 
I come from the land of the ice and snow…..I currently live in Toronto Ontario….My parents bought me in the late 70's, "Double Platinum" by Kiss and "YMCA" by Village People…They got one right…... which lead me into Led Zep and Yes and so the journey began.

The last time i played live was over 12 years ago…..the lighting above the drummer was help by tie wraps (unbeknownst to the band) and came down while we were on break (scary stuff)…..I'm in my late 40's and appear to be significantly younger than most members here : - )
