Unwritten rules or forum quirks I need to know about?

Good day! :)

I recently opened my first topic and made the mistake of editing the first post to add a bit of additional information. That booted it back into the approval queue and is showing the "Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly." now. This is the first forum that I have been a member of that automatically places edited posts in an approval queue. This is fine of course, but I was not aware of this policy. I didn't see it in the forum rules, but later read a response by one of the moderators that the first few posts of a new member go through moderation to keep out the bots.

I know there are restrictions on posting hyperlinks and posting pictures for new members.

So, while we patiently wait for the post to go through the moderation process:
- Are there any other policies that I need to know about, that are not in the forum rules?
- Are there any things that I can do to make it smooth sailing (e.g. not edit my posts :p)?
- Are there specific general guidelines for topics? E.g. do you prefer short opening posts or more detailed but longer ones? Should we included a TL;DR summary at the top?

You may be giving this way too much thought.

Just post. The rest will take care of itself.

I think the reason it is being "approved" is because of the newness of the account. I believe once you have X number of posts (maybe 10 or something, I don't know the real number) you will be past that. I have seen the same happen to other new members.

One thing to think about that trips up many is the picture stuff. PRS will not "host" your pix, it will only allow you to link to pix from a hosting site. And the link must end in an image format type extension (.jpg, .png, .gif, etc.). There are a number of posts on the topic with tutorials and advice, and you can see a list of them in this post!

Good to know that PRS won't host the pictures. I have multiple websites, so I will host the pictures myself then. Good advice!
That is exactly what I do is host my own. Do note, you will need a secure certificate so that you have https protocol. Http will not cut it! Took me a few weeks to figure out that issue in 2021 ;~))

Couple rules to remember..

1- GuSH gets first dibs on 5310 (or any pickups for that matter) pickups

2- before you put your apes away, make sure you have the proper hangers.
