Unset a neck before refinishing?

I don't wanna do a total refin because of the decal on back and the front has Paul Reed Smith painted on I was gonna buy an airbrush and try to touch it up like they do on youtube Anyone can change the neck I'm concerning myself with preservation because it's an early model and maybe was owned by someone famous

Ignoring (sort of) the OP's bizarre reaction, if I were going to try to "restore" that bass, then you may as well take it down as far as you can go - and if the neck separates as easily as I imagine (due to the glue being softened anyway) then why not? Heck, I'd want to re-set the neck before putting bass string tension on it!

I think there's a reason you people only have bad things to say like distort6 and that would be because you're a bunch of rat bastard lowlife ******* ******** scumbag catholics I want every one of you scumbags dead
So, whadya got against Catholics? Nazi, or just hater? For the record, I'm agnostic. Just curious.

Sorry man. I wuz only stating another way the Bass could be used/preserved if the restoration didn't work out.

I'm also an anti-dentite. Sorry if that's a shock for some....
