I picked up a marshall 1960a cab a couple months ago.

It had been listed for sale for a while so I reached out and got it for a pretty good price. I've been waiting for a couple more alnico golds to pop up so I could use them and the two I have to load this cab.

That was my project for tonight.

It has the mono stereo circuit which says made in England and it has the gold badge lower left corner that says 1960 lead.

The G12T-75s in this cab are Chinese not UK????

I foolishly thought I was buying a cab with UK 75s.

When did marshall start doing that??
I know the guy ibought it from and he bought it brand new. I did ask what speakers it had and he said what ever marshall put in it as he had never opened it up.

It is rated at 300 watts so I was sure they were 75s just didn't know they were Chinese.

Buyer beware I guess.

I pulled a set of 75s from a used 1960a Lead cab I bought last year… never looked at them to see where they were made. Sold them, and put in 4 UK made Greenbacks, and it sounds killer.

I know Celestion moved a lot of their speaker manufacturing to China, then heard they have moved some back to the UK. I’m not sure of exactly what’s being made where these days! I don’t know that the Chinese ones sound different, but I just like proper UK stuff inside… makes me feel like it’s a real Marshall cab!

I've done the same thing. I have four 1960 cabs. One with G12T-75s with single recessed input, UK greenbacks, G12L-35s and alnico golds.
One 1982 straight cab with g12-65s
One 6505 with UK V30s

One 2x12 with creamback 65s
One 2x12 weber silver bell alnico 50s

I like options.
