Hey guys, does anyone have experience in Northwest England PRS dealers; which ones tend to be the best? I believe PMT Manchester is a very good store but have yet to visit.

Mee too. Just bought from soundaffectsmusic, form Italy. I would say good choice and very nice experience.

Yup. Sound Affects in Ormskirk is great. PMT in Salford is your next best bet followed by Dawsons which has stores throughout the NW.

Used to be a great shop in Manchester full of tasty PRS's and other really high end gear. Can't remember the name now but sadly it's shut down.

Should add that I've bought from all of these without issue. PMT can be a pain with the noise and you'll struggle to get near the guitars on a busy day. Good store otherwise. Sound Affects had excellent customer service and will likely have more stock now they've moved to a larger premises. Dawsons is also fairly good but haggle with them on price as they're not the cheapest.

Also check out Reidy's in Blackburn. Bit out the way depending on where you live but another great shop. Not sure how much PRS stock they have though.

Worldguitars all the way. Jeff is such a pleasure to deal with. And the setups he does on theguitars he sells is just awesone!

I'm in the states and bought a guitar from Jeff at Worldguitars. He is top notch. He made the process very quick and easy.

depends if you want local or online and at what level your buying at, I reckon

soundaffects, wildwire are close to you and both good

If I were going after a core model I would check them two out against worldguitars, as a trio of high end UK shops, checking on their actual physical stock

SE range I would aggressively price check the likes of andertons, gak, pmt, thomann, guitarguitar - I mean all they do is get them QC'd from PRS UK/Europe and ship them on. I mean that with no disrespect, I have bought guitars from soundaffects, andertons, guitarguitar and thomann and not had one issue. I heartily recommend them all.

The best thing about the PRS brand, even at asian level, is consistency. Your unlikely to get a bad one, and if you did it would get replaced.

I use PMT in oxford and they're brilliant. They're stock of american made PRS is limited though. I'd recommend World guitars if your looking for a really decent US PRS.

I have bought all my three Prs,s blind from shops all over the U.K. Even though like you I live in the northwest of England. I found that shops like sound affects at ormskirk( my nearest guitar shop) are too pricey. 4 weeks ago I bought a new DGT from a family run guitar shop in Eastbourne. It was more than £900 cheaper than anywhere else. Last time I looked on their website they had a new tremonti for sale at a superb price. And they are keen to haggle.

World Guitars may not get more recommendation than the others, but they sure have one of, if not the best demonstrators/players ever(he makes me want to get better)!

One other things for sure they certainly know how to photograph a guitar, if you ever look at their website they have some great photos

Its my perception he (jeff) gets first dibs on the best ones from prs, much like certain good US names.

Incidentally, his old demonstrator, aka robchapman.tv on that internet is selling out all his old lessons as a bundle, if your into that

World Guitars were easy to deal with.I called Saturday 10th January and bought a 2003 Hollow body 1 Artist pack. it was set up and left Stonehouse UK Monday and was here in Faro Portugal on Thursday .
