Wow, I still have an account ... cool.
So, on Wednesday nite, I get a call from my kinda friend that plays regularly seeing if I wanted to sit in for the weekend 'cause their other guitarist had different commitments.
Yeah, I'm in for that. Went over to his place Thursday nite to run thru the setlist and make a cheat sheet, although I've heard them many, many times.
Fortunately, I have some rudimentary keyboard skills and can sing harmony ... never hurts to be a little versatile.
A sixties band, very, very popular.
The only payment I asked for was a couple of beer and to play "She Loves You" at the start of the third set.
Went really well, good times.
Played my Studio, sounded great.
It was cool to be able to play at my local haunt where I'm normally a customer and to show that I have some "bona fides" ... It's a male ego thing, what can I say? I'm sure some can identify. And, I get to do it again tonite.

I never turn down a chance to jam for a few free beers! Not to get sloppy, just a light something-or-other here and there to keep me cool when the set starts to heat up. Sounds like a good time!

Man, it is smokin' in here tonite.
Place is packed, everyone dressed up for Halloween and lovin' the music ... these guys are really old-school 60's traditionalists, most of it English. No long, extended solos on tap here.
:prslogo: Studio is rockin' and the boys seem to have a bit more confidence in me tonite.
Time for the third set ... tons 'o fun.
I think I actually smiled once .
Cheers!
