Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and a proud new owner of a 2013 custom 24 artist quilt top (one piece) in grey black with ebony headstock and fingerboard. It took 6 months to get her built (7 year anniversary/30th birthday/Christmas..etc) from the Mrs. to be
It came with uncovered 57/08's. I changed the white pickup rings with factory black rings to help enhance the quilt top and color scheme. I purchased a set of the new \m/ metal pickups and feel the nickel covers will not match my guitar. I want to uncover the pickups but am worried as the covered pickup bobbins are usually round (traditional) and new factory "uncovered" pickups have squared bobbins. I don't want to create any empty visible spaces in the pickup cavity. I'll try to upload some pics. I was thinking that if I get matching nickel pickup rings , it would better suit the guitar aesthetics; however, PRS will not make or supply them. I've found some online but it looks like the hole spacing is all for the import SE models.... And are not factory... What would you do? May be a better question to answer untill after I upload the pics...thanks in advance. Any pics of other grey black prs guitars with nickel pickups on them would be greatly appreciated ....
