Not sure how true this is, but I have heard that the factory does runs of specific guitars and then switches gears and does batches of other models. Rinse and repeat as necessary. It seems to me, in the few years I have been watching the stuff that is available, that I do see large batches of specific models suddenly available at most dealers simultaneously. Then a few months later, "Oh, lot's of Vela's out there right now, and MEV's". Next thing you know "Gee, lot's of new CU24's and McCarty's at the dealerships". Now this is not scientific study as you may be able to discern from the wording, but if true, it could mean that your model chosen is not set for a new production cycle till next year some time, and unlike Private Stock, they are not going to throw a wrench into their system to accommodate a few specific stock model orders. All just opinion here, but somebody may be able to put some meat on the merits of what I am saying (or shoot it out of the air like a pheasant) ;~))
