“I usually modify most of my guitars – mostly Strats. But recently, PRS sent a couple of guitars to me, and they did all the modifications that I asked for, and just sent it to me ready to go. I guess both ways happen, but if it’s just something that I purchase, usually I do some modifications."

I'd love to see what they sent him...:D

“I usually change all the pickups, especially in any Mexican Strat that I buy. I really prefer Mexican Strats because of their necks and the way they feel – they’re actually really well-made. I’ve had several American Strats that I’ve ended up selling and just not playing, because I love the Mexican Strats so much more."

That is interesting because Henry Garza does the opposite thing. He buys MiM Strats and swaps the neck out for an American Strat neck. Neck carves are very personal thing. I love the PRS Regular/Pattern Regular neck carve, but cannot stand the Wide-Fat/Pattern neck carve, which is why I have refrained from purchasing a new core model. However, I own an R7 and Custom Shop Strat with '59 neck, but of which are pretty meaty. I wish that PRS would bring the Regular/Pattern Regular carve back to the core models, but I guess that I am an outlier here.

Same! I love Ty he's one person who has been a major music influence. Kings X Summerland...what a track!

Love King's X, but he's been known to play quite a few makes/models over the years and never sticks to set guitar from any particular company.
Fender, Yamaha, Gibson, Zion, Gilford.......he uses or used them, maybe even still.

King's X is a BIG fave & Ty's always been in my Top 10.....so it would be great to see him with a PRS or even a sig-model. But it would be a shame if it turned out like the Orianthi SE sig that seems like it disappeared due to interest.

Still........cool;)
