After reading some positive reviews from Floyd Rose owners, I asked John Mann if he would consider machining me a few PRS-spec tremolo blocks from tungsten - which is over twice the density and hardness of brass. Looks like he's going to order the raw materials and machine one up.

I have been trying to find an elegant way to add just a hair more body weight to my Westy. While replacing the metal tuner buttons with ebony really helped with neck dive, a bit more weight in the tremolo would be an elegant solution while positively impacting low-end and sustain. Or so I think. We shall see.

If this is something that interests you, subscribe to this thread and I'll post my results. If all goes well, I'm sure John would be willing to make more.

Stay tuned.

A most excellent adventure!
