Tuner knob issue

Can someone please help me out, I bought some used replacement tuner knobs and I tried changing them out on my SC250 (phase II locking tuners) but the existing screws didn't work with them and they are too big.

So I put the original tuner knobs back on but now with the original screws and I have three of the tuners that will only turn just a small amount. They will only turn about a 1/4 turn then won't turn any more in either direction. I tried loosening the screw that did not help, I tried loosening the locking screw but that didn't help. The same original screws and knobs I took off that worked now don't. The washers are there. Some of the screws will not screw into the tuners now, they just turn and turn. All the screws seem to be the same length. Hopefully that all makes sense.
I can't play my guitar until I can figure this out.

Ok, I just figured out that some of the bolts that the screws screw into have pushed out. See pic. I'm just not sure how to get them back in?

I'll have to give that a shot, I'm going to have to cut them off as I can't loosen some of them enough to get the string off. I just put these strings on a week ago.

Yep, never try to change the tuner knobs with the strings still on, duh. The whole reason I did this was to put some new knobs on as I found the originals to be too small. Since my SC only has dots I found these knobs used on Ebay for $37.00.
