I picked up a black Tremonti SE from Guitar Center for around $300. I couldn't believe how great it played and how great it sounded with no set up at all. I had GC put new strings on it and set it up for C# standard (going to use it for a lot of Sabbath) and I am completely impressed! Normally I'd change out the pick ups right away, but this guitar doesn't even need that. (I still may change them though!) My expectations weren't high for a $300 guitar, but this surpassed them by miles. What a pleasant surprise.

Love my SE Tremonti. My buddy is upset that he grudgingly likes it better than his American Strat. I made him feel better by saying "Two different sounds dude, they're both great". Technically I didn't lie.

Keep in mind that it isn't a $300 guitar... You got a great price but normal street price on it is much closer to a mex strat than a squire...

How do you get a black Tremonti SE from GC for 300 dollars? Was it used? I would really like to get one of them. Did they have any left? PM me the details. Awesome deal.

Lol I don't know! I saw it hanging on the wall for $299, I played it and bonded with it. I've played some SEs (and regular PRS) that I didn't like, but I instantly felt a connection with this axe. I had them set it up for C# standard as I'm going to use this for Sabbath and other down tuned stuff.

It was from the Guitar Center in Algonquin, IL. (Suburb of Chicago) I THINK I saw one for the same price there last weekend. You may want to shoot them a call. It's bare bones, no gig bag or anything like that.

Theres a few on GC's website last i looked, though they're used. And there was one on reverb.com not so long ago too.

Was yours used or maybe NOS?

I thought it was new. I guess it could have been NOS, they really didn't say.
