I have what may be a dumb question. A friend of mine recently received a Tremonti Baritone, however, due to an emergency he needs to sell it, and offered it to me at a very low asking price. It is still brand new and unplayed. If I buy it, I'll pay more than what he is asking for it.

My question is this: Is the stoptail designed to accept only heavy gauge strings, or can I use 11s or 10s without issues?

Thank you.

Sure. You just won't be able to tune it as low.

Sorry for your friend. Hopefully you'll give him dibs so maybe he can buy it back some time.

Either of those strings should work fine with the adjustable stoptail. Will just need a truss rod/intonation adjustment if you are going far off the original string gauge.

These come with 14s, and tuned at C# from PRS...at 25.5" Scale length.
The bass response on this just punches you in the face!
