Hi, tell me something about the 2007 Tremonti 2 vs the newest model.
I have my eye on a Tremonti (with Trem) 2007 model year !!
Did PRS have better woods back in 2007 for the Tremontis?
I know already:
- A 2007 Tremonti II will have old birds, 2008 to 2010 will most likely have outline birds and the newest ones have the "dirt birds".
- The 2007 - 2010 has Wide Thin neck vs the new Pattern thin.
- V12 finish on the newer ones. Is this an advantage? Do these guitars vibrate better?

Any other advantages or disadvantages of these older 2007 transition year (Pickups, weight, more precise tuners on the newer one, ...)?
Educate me, please. I want to know if the 2007 model year is as good as the newest revision.

Normally I would say no but I can attest that depending on which half of 2007 it was made, it might be heavy as hell. In 07 PRS had a shipment of mahogany that was INSANELY dense. My 07 Tremonti is one of the heaviest guitars I've owned (I have multiple Tremontis) and it sustains for days. I really do notice an improvement in tone because of it.

thats good info, thanks.
i will ask the seller for the weight, but what weight are we speaking ? more than 4kg?

My 2010 Tremonti is a lot heavier than my 2012, the 10 does seem to have more sustain. But the 2012 with the sqwobbins is a beast as well with slightly more midrangy tone, not sure if its the V12 or the sqwobbins or the weight. Don't get me wrong they are very similar, but with each having its own kind of character.....love them both!!!
