Tremolo Arm Height

Just received my new Custom 22. The tremolo arm sits pretty low when seated all the way into the tremolo. I like it better not pushed all of the way in. I wonder if that creates any stability issues though, and I do not like that if I remove it, it is not likely it will be returned to exactly the same height. I was wondering what is suggested. Should I push it in all the way, and just bend the bar so it sits at the height I want, or maybe just mark the bar so I can get it pretty close to the height I want?

Thanks :)

I bend my arms to raise them to the perfect level for me. its easy.

I have 5 core. I put the arm in a vise ( short end) and gently pull on it. Try it out. If not right repeat.

Once I had the right bend I drew it out on paper and used it as a pattern for the others. done!!

I bend them.

You can also get a jar of liquid vinyl and dip the plastic end in there.
This will make the bar feel much more comfortable and substantial.

oh, I was thinking about sanding the plastic to make it more grippy. Hadn't considered liquid vinyl, but that sounds like it might work well

I think John Mann will make custom trem bars. He does a beautiful job with everything he makes, including PRS' original trems back in the day (and still makes his own as well). And he's a PRS dealer.
