I installed a pair and the tension seemed greater w/ no appreciable improvement in tone although maybe a tad brighter and slight more sustain. Not being strongly impressed I decided to put the stock posts back in. They felt heavier than the Tone Pros and thought all in all they were a better fit for this gtr.

Now when I tried to install them back on I was unable to screw them down several turns before I could go not further. I removed the safety hex nuts too so they were not the problem. Because of the piezo connector needing clearance I could not screw down the posts far in advance.

What am I missing? I have done tons of mods on gtrs and am at a loss of how to get the stock posts back in. Please help. Thanks!

I'm not following. The piezo connector is between the posts, right? As long as both posts are about the same height once the tailpiece is on, I don't see what stops them. Do they screw all the way in on both sides without the stoptail on?

I know it sounds crazy. Yes they will go down w/ no bar but when I add the bar its only a few turns and can do no more. One side will start "locking out". I have tried to do a little on each side incrementally but to no avail. This is totally driving me nuts. I cant see what is the problem.

Ok after a lot of attempts I got the stock posts down without a screwdriver slip and a gash to my beautiful gtr. Honestly I could not believe how hard it was to get it back on. My conclusion is that the Tone Pros locking studs didn't help this gtr. $40. wasted but lesson learned.
