Tone knob a Tubescreamer

Does the tone knob on a Tubescreamer act the same way as it does on a guitar? Whereas, if it's at the full position, it's not filtering anything, and a the lowest position, filters treble, or is it neutral in the center position and adds/removes treble from there?

A Tubescreamer tone knob adjusts how pronounced the mid boost is on the pedal. It will behave similarly to a tone control on a guitar, but for different frequencies.
