To trem or to tremel-no

Well, she's doing full step bends already... Not sure how the PRS trem handles double stops and double stop bends?.

I have no problem with it. She might. We have different hands I'm sure.

Hopefully she does not have 947 year old man hands!

Lol most definitely not. She's so lucky starting so young... Her hands do exactly what she wants them to do exactly when she wants them to do it.

Well we made a 3 hour trip down to Dave's in lacrosse today to "browse". Incredible number of prs guitars in that place! Not an s2 in there and hardly and se's but row after row after row of artist packages in ever flavor. I think the cash is gonna end up being ponied up to step up to a core line after several hours of playing. She fell in love with a teal custom 24, a AL DI MEOLA PRISM, and a blue custom 22 with a real deep quilt.

Not a great pic but 3 from Dave's personal collection that really were impressive.

Dave's is a great store on the PRS front, for sure - and his collection is incredible. Been awhile since I've been there.

I'd thank your lucky stars that you have a lovely daughter who is spongeing up music, and just go with the flow. I'd take the PRS 'Birds' metaphor and let her fly... whether that's towards a trem or not, or even - heaven-forbid - towards a Strat. You've done your bit in getting her interested, now give her the space to do hers...

And forgive me for saying it... but I sense that you may have an 'investment' in her beyond her choice of guitar. I don't mean that in a creepy way, but may be there is some sense of living your life vicariously through her talent. From my experience, I'd say that it's possible to 'help' too much... and 3-hour trips for a 10-year-old to your chosen store may cross that line, whatever your intentions. Love to you both any way...

Going down to Dave's has an added bonus. I grew up an hour from there so they got to see grandma for a bit as well. Dave's was the excuse to go but a day out and seeing family was what it really was.

A significant hobby/side business that we participate in as a family is exhibition poultry. I raise and show some of the most competitive waterfowl in the country. only 2 of the shows we attend each fall are within 2 hours from the house. The rest are between 3-15 hours away. These trips are usually leave Friday and come home Saturday or Sunday so a 3 hour drive to a guitar shop is nothing really. The only hard part of it is dealing with the shops limited weekend hours.

Plus, it helps with the cabin fever from winter to get out and get some sun shine on your face.

I thought about getting into that once.

But I chickened out.
